What separates the many from the few is the determination to keep going in the face of setbacks and challenges. This pursuit, perseverance, is difficult to cultivate, but it is one of the most useful skills we can ever develop.
Create a clear vision. We need to ask ourselves how hard are we willing to work to achieve our dreams? Are we willing to keep going if our pursuit takes longer than we expect and is more difficult than we imagined? Once we've asked ourselves the tough questions, we need to create steps to head us in the right direction.
Setbacks. Obstacles and challenges will undoubtedly come our way. It's in the face of these challenges where our true grit shows. Our desire for our goals must be greater than the current problems we face. We have to truly want it for us to keep going. While we're enduring, it's important to take care of ourselves physically and mentally. When we're at our best, staying calm and objective in difficult situations becomes more manageable.
Self-Belief. Even though we may have a support system around us, our goals are ours and ours alone. They're our responsibility and it's only up to us to make something out of nothing. Believing we are able to accomplish what we set our mind to is the greatest support we'll ever have. When we believe we can do something, we put in the work necessary to get there. Perseverance may take time to develop and the road to get there may be difficult, but it's the key for any type of success. To fight through the pain and constant challenges is what separates those who achieve and those who fail. With optimism, consistent learning, and a strong desire to achieve, we can accomplish anything.
"Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained." -Marie Curie
