Every single day, we make mistakes. At first mistakes feel defeating and can create a sense of chaos. We may feel like we're worth less. The truth is, mistakes create the foundation for future success. The more mistakes we make, the more opportunity we have to learn. It's not easy dealing with the errors we make, but this is what creates the growth we need.

They teach us. With mistakes comes new learning. Every time we make a mistake, we learn something for the future. If we're willing to dissect the error we made and how to improve it, we can overcome a similar obstacle next time we face one.

They create action. Mistakes help us see where we went wrong and how to improve. When we see the path to improvement, we take action. We do what's necessary to avoid feeling the same pain again. As we create new action, we avoid the same mistake and become better in the process.

They are reversible. Most mistakes are minor and not life threatening. We tend to beat ourselves up when say or do something wrong. Knowing these wrongs can be made right is what gives us power over them.

Many of us avoid taking risks because we fear failure, but it's the failure that helps us grow into new people. Without making mistakes, there would be no lightbulb, no automobile, and no iPhone. Failure creates learning opportunity, learning creates growth, and growth creates the person we want to be.

"Life is all about evolution. What looks like a mistake to others has been a milestone in my life. Even if people have betrayed me, even if my heart was broken, even if people misunderstood or judged me, I have learned from these incidents. We are human and we make mistakes, but learning from them is what makes the difference." -Amisha Patel
