The goals we set for ourselves should be grand, but how can we expect to reach them if we don't give 100% into everything we do? If we truly want to become a better person, experience a better life, and help those around us, we need to start with the little things first.
Keep track of everything. Whether it's following a to-do list or taking notes, it's essential we keep track of everything we need to do, from small to big tasks. This not only helps us achieve little goals, but keeps us prepared. When we're on top of our game on the small things, we stay sharp on the big things.
Create daily habits. Rather than relying on discipline all the time, we can create daily rituals that leap us towards our goals. Making our bed, washing the dishes, meditating, working out, etc. -- these are the habits that build who we are. Like brushing our teeth, daily habits need to become part of our lifestyle.
Find inspiration. Listening to those who inspire us is what sparks the flame in our hearts. When we feel deeply connected with an idea, we are more likely to take action. Embracing optimism and inspiration is important to learning about what we actually care about and where we want to give our time and effort to.
Giving our full effort is no easy task. It's challenging, requires mental toughness, and we will all experience off days. The key is to measure what we can, stick to our good habits, and inspire ourselves to carry out the vision we have for the future.
"Don't settle for average. Bring your best to the moment. Then, whether it fails or succeeds, at least you know you gave all you had. We need to live the best that's in us." -Angela Bassett
