Gratitude

Although we all face our own set of challenges, we often take many things for granted throughout life. A little more gratitude can greatly enhance our day to day once we realize how crucial it is for our happiness. From feeling more alive to experiencing more positive emotions, the benefits of practicing gratitude are endless.

Happiness. Practicing gratitude makes us feel more appreciative of everything around us. From people who are close to us to the convenient amenities we have, gratitude shines light on our world. Gratitude creates a positive feedback loop that allows us to continuously experience optimism for long periods of time. Wouldn't you want to feel great all the time?

Optimism. Gratitude is highly correlated with optimism. When we're grateful of even the smallest experiences, it means we focus on the good. By focusing on the good, we believe more good will come our way in the future. When this optimism is created, we create a better future for ourselves by concentrating on the best things about life rather than the bad.

Health. With gratitude comes an increase in quality of life. The mindset of appreciating more around us creates a sense of fulfillment. This allows us to sleep better, feel less physical pain, interact with others in a positive way, and even boosts our immune system. Appreciation not only does wonders for our psychology, but it also increases the longevity of our lives.

Gratitude is an underrated tool that we can all utilize more. With this comes many more benefits than we realize and all it takes is some mindful practice each day. We all want to be happier, more optimistic, & healthier, and this is our way to get there.

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend." -Melody Beattie
